Description:
Understanding basic concepts and theories related to teaching foreign languages. Gaining an insight into the major approaches and methods in language teaching. Students will develop understanding of the foreign language teaching process and of the language teaching strategies.
Learning outcomes:
  1. explain the role of glottodidactics within the field of applied linguistics
  2. describe and compare different approaches and methods throughout the history of ELT; explain the notion of communicative competence
  3. describe the process of teaching receptive and productive language skills, grammar and vocabulary
  4. explain the principles of testing and assessment in ELT
