THE ROLE OF STUDENTS

Student representatives participate in the work of the Faculty through memberships in various bodies and organizational units and activities in the Student Union. There are six (6) representatives of students and their deputies in the Faculty Council. The representation of all levels of studies is ensured: two representatives and deputies of undergraduate university studies, two representatives and deputies of graduate university studies, one representative and deputy of integrated university undergraduate and graduate study, and one representative and deputy of the postgraduate university (doctoral) study.
Students also have their representatives in the following bodies of the Faculty: the council of each department (two student representatives), the Ethics Committee, the Publishing Committee, the Quality Assurance Committee, the Education Committee, the Library Board, the Awards Committee (one representative each). In the event that one of the parties to the proceedings is a student, they must also have a representative in the Committee for Protection against Discrimination, Harassment, and Sexual Harassment. In the Committee for Disciplinary Responsibility of Students, students have two members.

The 20th edition of the student magazine The Split Mind was presented to the public on May 11, as part of Friendship in May. The new issue was presented by the editor-in-chief Filip Škifić, with performances by students Anđela Rogulj and Mirjam Lejo.

We kindly ask all of the students to follow the established rules of appropriate dress code in the academic environment during their stay on the premises of the Faculty.  It is unacceptable to wear the following on Faculty premises: shorts, mini skirts or mini dresses, clothing and footwear intended for the beach and similar places; transparent clothing and other clothing items that are not considered appropriate in public and state institutions in the Republic of Croatia. We kindly ask you to follow these guidelines, otherwise you will be asked to leave the Faculty building.  Thank you for your understanding.  Faculty Management

The Confucius Institute of the University of Zagreb is enrolling new students in a free online Chinese language course for beginners . The course is intended for adults with knowledge of the English language. To enroll, prospective students need to take a motivational exam which will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 6 p.m . Applications for the motivational exam are open and will remain open until January 30, 2022 at 10 p.m . You can apply by filling out the online form. The professors of the Confucius Institute at the University of Zagreb are native speakers of Chinese. The class working language is English. The course begins on February 21, 2022 and ends on June 17, 2022. Classes are held online, twice a week for 90 minutes, in the afternoon and evening. Upon completion of the course, participants will be awarded a certificate of successful completion of the Chinese language beginner degree. The Center for Croatian Studies Abroad is  now receiving applications for the summer semester  of the Croatian Language and Culture Course in the academic year of 2021/2022. The summer semester starts February 28  and runs until June 17, which is the total of 15 weeks of classes. Applicants need to send the following: 1. Completed and signed application form 2. Copy of the passport or other personal identification document. 3. Copy of the payment transaction (only the category of applicants subject to payment*) *NOTE: Erasmus students are not subject to payment.  They can enroll in the course for free – enrollment in this course is voluntary for all incoming Erasmus students at the University of Split in the academic year 2021/2022. Students arriving through other types of mobility schemes (such as CEEPUS etc.) have to pay a special rate of 600,00 Croatian kuna per semester. All other applicants are subject to the semester course tuition fee of 2.300,00 Croatian kuna per semester. The registration documents need to be sent to the programme coordinator Ms. Jelena Novaković ( jnovak@ffst.hr)  by September 20. The Italian Institute of Culture in Zagreb organized a competition in creative writing called Dante. Dal canto V ad oggi for primary and secondary schools and students of Croatian universities. Students of the Departments of Italian language and literature in Zagreb, Split, Zadar, Rijeka and Pula participated in the competition. Congratulations to our student Maja Klarić , who won the 2nd prize in creative writing on the topic: Lettera a Reverendo Frate Gennari , as well as to her mentors Cinzia Guardigli and Maja Bilić!
