Description:
The course aims to consider the contemporary uses and basic techniques of rhetorical analysis in order to provide opportunities for students to improve their critical thinking abilities by engaging in the rhetorical analysis of spoken and written texts. It is designed to encourage students to improve their English language skills by offering a practical experience of producing a range of spoken and written texts in English. To this end, students will be encouraged to learn about the past and present views of rhetoric and of rhetorical devices. The texts that will be looked at consist of topics related to rhetorical analysis itself and of various types of texts to be analyzed individually and in groups, orally and in writing.
