Upoznati studente sa starijom engleskom književnošću, kao i njezinim kontekstom uzimajući u obzir suvremenu povijesnu, estetsku i filozofsku problematiku; razviti analitičke vještine studenata s obzirom na pisanu i usmenu komunikaciju analize starije književnosti.

1. Knowledge of early modern English literature; Knowledge of early modern English literature; Knowledge of early modern historical, philosophical and aesthetic contexts.
2. Ability to analyse early modern English literature in oral discussions and ability to compose coherent and thoughtful written argument essays concerning early modern English literature; ability to understand and analyse complex and multi-layered texts in English.
3. Ability to synthesize a variety of contextual sources (visual arts, media and technology, historical, philosophical and aesthetic contexts) in understanding and analysing texts.
4. Ability to communicate complex ideas orally before a group of peers both in spontaneous discussion and in prepared presentations and ability to express and write precise analyses of texts in structured essay form, both under time pressure (in an exam situation) and independently (in out-of-class work).
