History
Research Center ''Berislav Žarnić'' was founded at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (University of Split) in 2016 under the name of Research Center for Logic, Epistemology and Philosophy of Science. Today it is titled by its creator and founder late Professor Berislav Žarnić (1959 – 2017).

The Center was founded with the idea of empowering inner cooperation of researchers at the Faculty who work within the domain of theoretical philosophy, but also of empowering outer cooperation with fellow institutions and researchers in the scientific community. It is focused on topics and problems which are mainly discussed in philosophical disciplines of logic, epistemology and philosophy of science.
We have already been honoured by hosting following lecturers: Timothy Williamson (Wykeham Professor of Logic, University of Oxford), Tomoyuki Yamada (University of Sapporo), Michael Peters (University of Waikato), Srećko Kovač (Institute of Philosophy, Zagreb), Luca Malatesti (Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Rijeka), Boran Berčić (Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Rijeka), Bojan Borstner (University of Maribor), Vladimir Drekalović (University of Montenegro), Milan Jovanović (Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Niš).
The Center is also co-editor of collection of papers Physics and Philosophy II which was selected from talks held at international scientific gatherings Physics and Philosophy at the University of Split in 2016 and 2017.

These interdisciplinary events started as early 2013 through the initiative of Professor Žarnić alongside professors Franjo Sokolić (then Faculty of Science, University of Split) and Dragan Poljak (Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Split) with more than one member of the Center participating regularly in these events and their organization.
