Career Planning and Development Center at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split organized Career Days on March 19 and 20, 2024. The event was opened by the Dean, Full Professor Ina Reić Ercegovac, Ph.D., who greeted the present representatives of teaching bases in front of the Career Planning and Development Center. She especially thanked the organizers of the event, Assistant Professor Tea Gutović, Ph.D., and Associate Professor Ivanka Buzov, Ph.D., coordinator of teaching bases. Throughout the morning of the first Career Day, students could visit the stands of representatives of the teaching bases present, such as the Marko Marulić Split City Library, HNK Hajduk Split, Radio Dalmatia, the Croatian Maritime Museum Split, the City Museum of Split, the City Museum Drniš, the MI Association, the Info Zone, the Domine Association, the MoST association, the Zdravi grad association, the "Znakujmo svi" association with representatives of international teaching bases, and to hear everything they are interested in about professional practice opportunities in their organizations. On the same day, a focus group was organized with employers in order to identify their needs in the context of the required knowledge and skills of students. A meeting between the Dean and the Advisory Board of external stakeholders of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences also took place.
The second day of the Career Days was reserved for a round table discussion on the topic “Starting a career with professional practice”, at which former and current students Ana Bratić, Lea Milošić Dude, Ivana Vladušić, Ana Miloš, Lucija Dujić, Paola Miletić, Ema Macut, Tomislav Bosnić, Gorana Ilibašić and Antonija Bekavac shared their positive experiences of cooperation with teaching bases and described their first contacts with real work environments. The focus group and the round table discussion were moderated by Assistant Professor Tea Gutović, Ph.D.. In the afternoon, the first in a cycle of five planned workshops entitled “The first step towards a career” was held on the topic “How to create a career plan”, led by Antonija Peroš, M.Sc. Psych., Head of the Office for Career Development at the University of Split. The cycle of workshops is scheduled to continue on April 3 with a lecture by Slobodan Jović on the topic “What employers want” at 4:30 pm in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split Main Hall.
