Description:
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the basic principles of interpersonal communication and enable them to apply them in everyday interactions.
Learning outcomes:
  1. Analyze your own intra- and interpersonal communication patterns and learn and practice new ones
  2. Become aware of your own and others' needs that lie behind interpersonal communication
  3. Understand the influence of social roles and relationships on the communication process
  4. Differentiate answering styles and the consequences of each of them on the communication process
  5. Reflective/empathic listening and paraphrasing
  6. Differentiate between open and closed questions and their effect on communication
  7. Distinguish between aggression and assertiveness and deal assertively with criticism, anger, and setting boundaries
  8. Use basic conflict resolution and negotiation skills
