The students are going to learn about the development of the Italian short story through the centuries and analyse its importance in Italian literature. The students are, furthermore, going to learn about the theoretical issues regarding the position of short story in Italian literature. The students are going to be able to develop the ability of close and critical reading and text explication and be able, thus, to explain comparatively the text within the historical perspective.
