Description:
Adriatic space in the time of Ferdinand of Habsburg. Ottoman invasions, Adriatic area and the Habsburg Monarchy: from Maximilian to Ferdinand III. Ottoman conquest of the Klis. Croatian multi-borders. Uskoks of Senj. Venetian and Habsburg Istria. Republic of Dubrovnik and the Habsburgs. Habsburgs and the Venetian-Ottoman Wars. Adriatic area and the Great Turkish War. Maria Theresa and Joseph II. and the Adriatic area. Habsburgs and Christian churches on the Adriatic.
Learning outcomes:
  1. explaining the basic ways of spreading Habsburg influence in the Adriatic area
  2. noticing the main contents of the permeation of the Habsburg dominion and the Adriatic area
  3. interpretation of the basic sources and basic historical processes of the early modern permeation of the imperial heritage in the Mediterranean under political, cultural, religious and other social aspects
  4. interpretation of the basic historical trends on the eastern Adriatic coast, especially in Istria, and
    notice their cause-and-effect relationships
