Description:

The goal of this course is to familiarize students with main principles of educational psychology, with an emphasis on learning and teaching processes.
COURSE CONTENT:
1. Introduction to Educational psychology. Research methodology in Educational psychology.
2. Implications of Developmental psychology findings for contemporary theories of learning.
3. Behaviorism: Classical conditioning.
4. Behaviorism: Operational conditioning.
5. Social learning theory.
6. Cognitivist approaches to learning and memory.
7. Knowledge. Higher cognitive processes. Metacognition.
8. Constructivism. Self-regulated learning.
9. Individual differences in the classroom: Abilities.
10. Individual differences in the classroom: Personality and learning styles.
11. Planning and choosing teaching methods.
12. Main teaching methods.
13. Evaluating students' learning accomplishments
