Description:
The subject is designed in a way to systematically deepen the students' knowledge about the general geography and the geography of Croatia. The material is presented in accordance with the bridging role of geography as a science of contact between natural and social sciences. Accordingly, students are first introduced to the basic physical-geographical features of the Earth (relief, climate, hydrology, biogeography), after which it passes to the socio-geographical elements (population, settlements, economy). At the end of the analysis the basic geographical features of Croatia, including regional features are analyzed. Through adoption of the subject's material the students acquire competence in the interpretation of basic knowledge about Earth, its natural and social characteristics, and geographical features of Croatia.
