Course objective is to define the respective periods in the appropriation of urban attributes as a result of different transformations of the Split peninsula from the 4th to 10th century. This entails an analysis of features, processes and structures connected to Late Antique and Early Medieval transformations of Diocletian's palace as well as of the Split peninsula, i.e. an interdisciplinary view of the post-Diocletian, Early Christian, pre-Carolingian and Carolingian periods in the history of the mentioned area. |
