Description:
The aim of the course is to deal with different images of Germany in European film history. The historical / historiographical values of each film will also be analysed.
Learning outcomes:
  1. After completing the course, students will be able to:
    - think critically about individual European films on the subject of German history and civilization, and in the context of the socio-historical, political and cultural developments of the 20th century
  2. - competently discuss the characteristics of filmmaking by selected filmmakers
  3. - make critical judgments about the historical, artistic and film value of selected film works
  4. - discuss the specifics of the origin of particular film works
  5. - explain the elements of individual film epochs and place them in the context of European cinema
  6. - explain the features of basic film theories (Gilles Deleuze)
